If you look closely at the chalkboard,
my class surprised me on my birthday with happy messages, colorful signs, and entertaining songs and dances!
It was such a great day!

"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day.
Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."
-Lao Tzu, Chinese proverb

This will be my third year teaching at St. Agnes Cathedral School. I graduated from Providence College in May 2006, where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. I am currently taking classes at Molloy College that will lead to my Master's Degree in Childhood Education. I am thrilled and blessed to be teaching at St. Agnes! This school has such a rich sense of community and family. The students at St. Agnes are extremely special and loving individuals.

About Me: My favorite thing to do is travel and explore the amazing world we live in! The three most exciting trips I have taken were to Ireland, London, and Costa Rica. Martha's Vineyard and Aruba are vacation spots also close to my heart. In my spare time, I love to spend time with my family and friends. Being outside is most enjoyable for me. Therefore, I love visiting the beach, going for nature walks, and running long distances. I ran my first marathon last summer in Manhattan. What an experience it was! I also love to read and do crafts. My favorite baseball team is the New York Yankees! My favorite animals are birds, dogs, and lambs. My favorite Disney character is Snow White.

My Teaching Philosophy: I believe that the classroom environment should be characterized by a welcoming and safe climate. The classroom is a community of learners, in which the students should respect and care for each other. Students cannot reach their full potential if they do not feel safe and comfortable to grow in all areas. I believe it is the teacher’s role to establish and maintain an open and honest relationship with each student, based on mutual trust and respect. There are various learning styles, and it is vital for the teacher to constantly strive to address the individual needs of the students. My goal is to instill a love of lifelong learning in my classroom; which will support the maturation and growth of children as students and individuals.
